About
How Orlando Tow Desk works
Orlando Tow Desk is a referral service for Orlando and the rest of the three counties (Orange, Osceola, Seminole). We are not a towing company, we own no trucks, and we don't do roadside work. When you get in touch, we pass the request to one independent towing company that works your area. That company calls you, prices the job and does it.
Who pays us
The towing company pays us for the introduction. You pay us nothing. We don't set its prices, and we don't take a cut of your bill.
What we ask of the company we refer you to
- A legal business name, given on the phone and printed on the receipt, that you can find on Sunbiz.
- One total price before a truck is sent: hook-up, miles, and any after-hours or winch charge.
- Your choice of where the car goes.
- For any tow from private property, the rules in Florida's s. 715.07 and the county or city rate caps.
- A card accepted, and no surprise fee for using one.
If a call falls short of that list, text us at (407) 707-6646.
Why this exists
Most people need a tow about as often as they need a will, so nobody has a towing company in mind when the car dies. They search, call the first number, and agree to a price they can't compare. The phone call is the only screen most people get. We try to make it a better one.
How we know what we know
Every guide lists its sources at the end. The numbers on our data page are our own analysis of federal data, and the method is published. Read the method.
Who writes this
The guides are written by John Voll. He doesn't drive a tow truck; he reads the statutes and the county rules and says where each number came from.
